Primitive church from the Middle Ages in Felanitx

Just to the left of the parish church of Sant Miquel, you will find the rectory, Santa Maria. It was probably one of the first buildings in Felanitx and served as the main church for the local population immediately after the conquest of the 1229th.

The church building is completed in the Gothic style with reference to the Italian Gothic, which was introduced by Friar Armengol, religious leader from the monastery of Sant Pau del Camp in Barcelona and monk of the Benedictine order.

You will recognize the building by it’s restored baroque entrance and the beautiful sculpture outside.
