The “Placeta del Sabater” is triangular and was known formerly as “jardinet”, a small garden. At the moment occupies the centre of the square. The monument, made of Santanyí sandstone, is dedicated to the shoemakers, profession of the majority of the inhabitants of the city until the 70s.

On this monument will be represented different scenes from the trade. The sculptor was Tomás Vila and was inaugurated on August 10th 1963.
