On your way through the streets of Inca, you will pass through the old marketplace of the town.

The place is known as, Plaça de sa Quatera, and the building behind the statue is simply known as, sa Quatera. Sa Quatera, was the old market building of Inca, primarily used for trading vegetables and corn. Today, the building serves as a cultural centre, hosting various art exhibitions and other cultural events.

In front of the sa Quatera, you will see a sculpture of a man and woman sewing. This sculpture honours the traditions and heritage of Inca as the leading production area of leather goods and shoes in Mallorca. Inca is the third largest city in Mallorca, and famous for its production of leather goods and footwear.
