Vantage point in Ariany called Mirador de sa Creu

Stop time for a few minutes and enjoy the amazing views over the rural countryside from this romantic spot

The Rectory of Ariany, is located on the right hand side of the church and has a facade with two floors and a lintel doorway.

On the right, at the beginning of the street, Carrer de la Pietat, there is vaulted arch doorway with an image of the Virgin in the upper doorway.
In front of the Rectory and the church, there is a beautiful small placa (square) situated on a liftet platform, offering the most amazing views over the rural es Pla region, all the way to the mountain of Randa. It is called the Mirador de Sa Creu (viewpoint of the cross), because of the Neo-Romanic stone cross that was built here, with a sculpted relief of Christ and capital letters decorated with angels. The cross was donated by Gabriel Mateu in 1970. In front of this cross, there is a rebuilt semi-circular arch doorway.

How to find Mirador de sa Creu


Ariany belong among the smaller municipalities of Mallorca, nevertheless, one of the most charming. The small and sleepy village is sitting on top of a hill overlooking the rural countryside, especially from the vantage point of Mirador de sa Creu you can enjoy excellent views over the Pla region. The village is surrounded by beautiful fields of corn poppies leaving the horizon in a scenic duvet of colors of all kinds. There is a nice handful of points of interest making it an attractive area to explore and, in the heart of the village you can enjoy a refreshment at one of the local bars.
