Besides from the great selection of cactus sorts, the botanical garden also offer about 25,000 m2 of indigenous Balearic species such as olive trees, pomegranates, almond trees, pines, cypresses, orange trees, eucalyptus and much more. Santuari de Sant Salvador

The sanctuary of Sant Salvador dates back from the mid-14th century where it was built as a refuge from the Black Death. It has since functioned as a monastery and place of worship and divine veneration. Today, you can visit this historical place situated at 405 meters altitude offering the most breathtaking panoramic views of the southeastern Mallorca. It is a great destination for cyclists and walkers who will enjoy the steep ascent up the mountain.

April

Festes de Sant Jordi / Fira de Sal

Every year, towards the end of April, the patron saint of Colònia de Sant Jordi, Saint George, is celebrated with a great party in the village. For a wekk, the town will be full of fun and cultural activities and events for you to enjoy, for example exhibitions, photography contests, live concerts, dances, food stands and more.

Coinciding with the celebration is the annual salt and spices fair which pays homage to the main product of the area, salt. You can look forward to a big market and both spices, herbs, foods and crafts, but also, a lot of gastronomical experiences. Special dishes are served at extremely low prices during this week, all with a twist of the local salt.

Sant Joan
