1. Enjoy the beach

The beach of Canyamel is beautiful and features fine-grained golden sand, and protection from winds from the rocky cliffs of Cap Vermell. Moreover, Playa de Canyamel is a Blue Flag beach, meaning is has been awarded for its cleanness.

2. Golfing

Golf is one of the most popular sports in Canyamel, namely because some of the most challenging courses are situated here. With 10 km from Canyamel you have access to four amazing 18-hole golf courses full of challenges that will make it difficult but extremely fun to play up to your handicap. The courses are set in beautiful surroundings and all clubs have great clubs houses where you can enjoy a refreshment.

3. Cycling

Canyamel is perfect for cycling the huge network of asphalted roads makes it easy to get out and about in the beautiful nature. There are numerous places to visit, thrilling turns that ascends and descends in the hill and mountains in the Llevant. Another important thing that makes cycling fantastic in here is the fact that traffic is usually lower in this part of the island and the roads broader.

Reach the most incredible and breathtaking vantage points in the Llevant mountains by entering the nature park located in nearby Artà. In the Llevant mountain park you can discover unspoiled Balearic wildlife, follow numerous scenic paths and routes and feel the total freedom of not being limited in any way, the world is open to you. In the mountain park you will also discover points of interest such as the Betlem hermitage, ancient barracks and ruins of watchtowers.

5. Marine Activities

Canyamel is located on the north-eastern coast of Mallorca, a perfect area to discover some of the island’s most diverse attributes. Head up to Cala Ratjada, about 10 minutes from Canyamel, and join of the many yacht cruises leaving from the marina. The cruises are perfect for a relaxing half day or full day on the sea. You will visit some of the hidden coves and lagoons, as well as see the dramatic Llevant mountain range rise high above you. There’s also the opportunity to jump in the crystal clear waters for a swim.

6. Torre de Canyamel

The biggest landmark of the area is the Torre de Canyamel, an old fortress used for protecting the local population against raids from the sea. During the 16th and 17th century, Mallorca faced numerous brutal raids of corsairs trying to capture hostages and loot the villages. Nowadays, the old fortress is used as a venue where you will find changing exhibitions on display. Next to the fortress is a great restaurant renown for its suckling pig and homegrown commodities.

7. CUEVAS DE ÁRTÀ

One of the great tourist attractions close to Cala Bona, is the Cuevas de Ártà, or simply, the Caves of Ártà. Come discover the fascinating world of stalagmites and stalactites illuminated by colorful light creating a cabinet of mysterious silhouettes. This attraction is for both young and adults to enjoy, so don’t turn it down.

8. Castell de Capdepera

It is easy to be fascinated by old castles and fortresses from the Middle Ages, and in Capdepera you can visit one of these. The Capdepera castle was constructed iin the early 14th century just after the archipelago had been conquered by the Catalan troops. Throughout the centuries the castle expanded with the villagers lived inside the walls. From the watchtowers you can spot the neighboring island of Menorca, as well as you can browse the many sections of the construction getting a good feeling of how life used to be here. Every years in May there is a big medieval fair and market held in the castle, a fun and cultural event worth visiting.

9. Sa Torre Cega / Palau Ca’n March

Former summer residence of Leonora and Joan March is now transformed into an amazing exhibition space that you enjoy a visit to. The sculpture collection is an extension of the collection found in the March palace in Palma, personally handpicked by art connoisseur Bartolomé March. The botanical gardens of Torre Cega has been under reformation by renown landscape gardeners such as Russel Page, Leandro Delgade and Gabriel Alomar, who has all contributed to the splendor of these magical gardens.
