The Punta de n’Amer fortress

During the 16th and 17th century, Mallorca faces a brutal threat from the sea as the Ottoman empire tried to gain full control of the Mediterranean basin. As a result of numerous attacks from corsairs, the fortress of Punta de n’Amer was erected as part of an extensive defense network of the coasts. The fortress was taken into use again during the Spanish Civil War as a communications outpost. There is an interesting small exhibition inside, and you can climb to the platform on top to enjoy the magical views of the bays of Cala Millor and Sa Coma.

Visit Son Servera

Son Servera is one of those villages that no one has heard of, nevertheless, one of the most visited municipalities on the Mallorcan east coast. Son Servera is famous for three things; the beach destinations of Costa del Pins and Cala Bona, the beautiful unfinished open-air church Església Nova and the annual almond blossom fair. The village itself is sleepy and boasts true rural charm, with exception of the weekly market on Tuesdays and some of the local fairs and festivals held.
