The parish church of Llucmajor, is dedicated to Sant Miquel (Saint Michael). It was constructed on top of a former church made in gothic style and dated back from 1386.
The church is of traditional and classicist character, with baroque influence and lack of architectonic ornaments and emphasizes by its grandiosity from outside.
The works of the current church began in 1784, and was finalized presumably towards 1866, this date appears on the greater vestibule. The architect was Isidro González Velázquez.
Its bell tower is of colossal altitude. In this church rested the lifeless body of King Jaime III before it was taken to the cathedral in Palma.
