About Casa de Arnau de Santacilla
What you are looking at, is actually the property of the very first building in Costitx.
Today, the house is known as Casa d’Arnau de Santacília, because it used to belong to the rector of Costitx, who was the protagonist behind the initiative of building the parish church.
Back during Moorish dominance of Mallorca, what is now Costitx, this was actually just a modest small farm. This building, was the main house of this Moorish farm.
Later on, the town son, Arnau de Santacília, who was the rector behind the construction of the church, moved in to this house and rebuilt.
The street was later named in his honour.
