Visit Mondragó Park
Mondraó Park is one of Mallorca’s most scenic and beautiful nature parks. It is located about 5-6 km from Cala Figuera and covers a surface of about 800 ha of unspoilt nature, including two of Mallorca’s best beaches. A number of trails lead about in the park allowing you to discover the best of the Balearic wildlife. The beaches are very popular so make sure you arrive early to reserve your spot.

Challenge your handicap on the beautiful Vall d’Or course
Vall d’Or is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful courses on the island, especially the last hole overlooking the stunning coastline from its high position. The 18-hole course offers a wide range of fun challenges like bunkers, ponds and palm trees. When you are done swinging the clubs, Vall d’Or’s clubhouse is ready to serve a nice refreshment.
One of the most iconic structures in this area is the curious horseshoe shaped rock of es Pontas. It is a spectacular sight that can be enjoyed from the coastline that surrounds it. The easiest way is to walk or cycle here, but you can also drive here by car.

Torre d’en Beu
During the 16th and 17th century, Mallorca was under constant threat of Ottoman corsairs trying to raid the coastal towns of the island. As a result of these attacks, a network of watchtowers was erected around the coastlines that would communicate via smoke signals and flags whenever the enemy came close. Torre d’en Beu on the cliffs of Cala Figuera is just one of many, and is an obvious place to visit for a beautiful walking excursion.
Església de Sant Andreu and the el Roser chapel
As with the rest of the villages in Mallorca, the church of Santanyí plays an important role in the local history and heritage. The construction of church of Sant Andreu (Saint Andrew) was started on July 25th, 1786, and every year a festival commemorate this. The church was built on top of the former primitive chapel called “el Roser”, which is still situated inside. El Roser dates from the Middle Ages, but was fortified in the 16th century due to the many pirate raids.
La Porta Murada (the wall gate)
The last standing monument of the old town wall of Santanyí from a time when pirates tormented the population with numerous raids. Inside the gate you can see the old prison cell that was in use up until the 20th century.
Santuari de la Consolació
This mysterious old chapel and hermitage has been a place of divine veneration for hundreds of years, when peasant went here to pray to Santa Escolástica for rain. Traditionally, Santanyí is one of the most dry areas of Mallorca with almost no rainfall throughout the year. In the modern age, Santanyí was tormented by attacks from corsairs raiding the town, hence the sanctuary was expanded and fortified to create a refuge for the population. This is an amazing place to visit, you can really feel the unique atmosphere up here as you scout the coastline from it position in 210 meters altitude.
Famous Danish architect Jørn Utzon (1918-2008), known for such works as the Sydney opera house and the National Assembly building of Kuwait, fell in love with Mallorca just as many other creative souls have over time. Utzon visited the island for the first time in 1958 and was taken by its natural beauty, hence he decided to move here and build the beautiful house of Can Lis. The house is now maintained by the Utzon Foundation is available for rental and open house events, meaning that you can actually come and visit and see this architectural wonder, free of charge. Markets, fairs and festivities
There is no weekly market in Cala Figuera, however, on Wednesdays and Saturdays there is a great market in the main town of Santanyí just 5-6 minutes away by car. At the market, you will find a vibrant atmosphere and hundreds of stalls occupying the streets of the town center.
Festes de Carme
Our Lady of Mount Carmel is protector of seamen, hence celebrated in the old port of Santanyí, Cala Figuera. The program has expanded throughout the years to include the entire week leading up to the actual day and, made it more interesting to both locals and tourists. On the day itself, you can experience a great procession at sea which is very beautiful.
