Carrer de s’Aljub, is one of the main streets in Santa Eugènia, because it connects the city with highways leading to Sencelles and Sineu. It is also important because of its division of the city and it is also where the bus is running.
Most importantly, however, is this water tank in the middle of the street, an old hydraulic system. The tank is divided into two pools, each with a kind of well on top of the limestone construction, which you can’t avoid noticing with its curved shapes.
Notice the iron rods built into the construction, during the Middle Ages, these were used to buckle cattle firmly. Until the 1950s, this system was the city’s primary water supply.
