Molí Leu

mill tower of moli leu in arta mallorca
About

The flower wind mill of Leu is dated circa the 17th -18th centuries due to its typology. It is a circular floor plan tower with a sandstone portal with a stone lintel and a step leading to its interior.

Originally, it was a round arch portal. On the top part of the tower there is a large window. It has a trimmed face and the structure does not preserve any kind of roof. But inside, the remains of a spiral staircase are preserved. The square floor plan tower is almost demolished although it still preserves its vault roof.

The old mill is situated on private ground, but can be observed from the narrow road running along the fence line of the property. You will pass the mill tower if you walk to or from the prehistoric settlement of Ses Païsses.
