Botanicactus is a botanical garden covering more than 50,000 m2 land located in Ses Salines, just 7 km from Colònia de Sant Jordi. As the name suggests, Botanicactus is specialized in cactus of various tropical kinds. Besides from the great selection of cactus sorts, the botanical garden also offer about 25,000 m2 of indigenous Balearic species such as olive trees, pomegranates, almond trees, pines, cypresses, orange trees, eucalyptus and much more. Santuari de Sant Salvador
The sanctuary of Sant Salvador dates back from the mid-14th century where it was built as a refuge from the Black Death. It has since functioned as a monastery and place of worship and divine veneration. Today, you can visit this historical place situated at 405 meters altitude offering the most breathtaking panoramic views of the southeastern Mallorca. It is a great destination for cyclists and walkers who will enjoy the steep ascent up the mountain.

Guided visit to the salt factory Salinas d’Es Trenc
The salt mines of Ses Salines are mythical and has been exploited since prehistoric times when ancient Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans extracted it, in other words, an indigenous product of Mallorca. Talayotic village els Antigors

The beaches closest to the marina are quite steep, roughly 50 meters out the depth will be more than 2 meters.

Weekly market
Every Wednesday morning the local market in Colobnia de Sant Jordi is held. At the market you can purchase and sample a wide range of local delicacies and products, ranging from leather goods to fresh produce.

Annual events and happenings
April
Festes de Sant Jordi / Fira de Sal
Every year, towards the end of April, the patron saint of Colònia de Sant Jordi, Saint George, is celebrated with a great party in the village. For a wekk, the town will be full of fun and cultural activities and events for you to enjoy, for example exhibitions, photography contests, live concerts, dances, food stands and more.
Coinciding with the celebration is the annual salt and spices fair which pays homage to the main product of the area, salt. You can look forward to a big market and both spices, herbs, foods and crafts, but also, a lot of gastronomical experiences. Special dishes are served at extremely low prices during this week, all with a twist of the local salt.

Sant Joan
Come and celebrate the night of Sant Joan in Colònia de Sant Jordi on June 23rd. Bonfires and lights illuminate the beautiful southern coastline of Mallorca, where demons and traditional figures from the regional folklore dance to the sounds of typical rhythms accompanied by an exciting audience.
