Ca ses Xilenes, a stunning architectural pearl in Llucmajor
Ca ses Xilenes, or “Home of the Chileans”. Currently occupied by the National Institute of Social Security.
This Neoclassical building was erected in 1925 and named after the daughters of the owner, whom were born in Chile, the parents having emigrated in around 1908. This house was built upon their return to Llucmajor along with many other families who returned from South America.
The Neoclassicism is easily recognized in the symmetry, straight lines, simplicity and balance in shapes and colors.
