Ullaró

old farmhouse in the village of ullaro outside campanet mallorca
About

Ullaró was one of the original Moorish farmhouses that was here when the Catalans conquered Mallorca (1229-1232).

Between the thirteenth and fourteenth century, Ullaró was divided into several properties to accommodate a growing community. One of these properties, was the Can Garreta, home to the most influential family in the whole area. You will see the entrance to the fancy Can Garreta across the street from Ullaró where the chapel is also situated.

The old chapel was built in 1687, and was in function until the early nineteenth century, when the new chapel was built.

  1. I loved discovering Ullaro by bicycle. There are neat little roads – some paved and some gravel that travel in every direction from Ullaro. I don’t know if I would drive out of my way to see the chapel, but it’s a neat little spot to explore by bike.

    1. I absolutely agree, it truly is a nice little spot in the middle of nowhere. The chapel too a nice and tranquil spot, but nothing to visit over and over. However, the Ses Fonts Ufanes nature reserve is a magnificent area that I enjoy visiting everytime I am nearby. Thank you for your input.
