One of Mallorca’a biggest and most renown exhibition spaces in the subject of contemporary art, is the CCA Andratx (Centre of Comtemporary Art). The art museum is situated in an impressive old finca in beautiful natural settings near the old town of Andratx. As well as the many changing exhibitions, CCA also offer a wide selection of activities and event to indulge in.
Discover the many hidden coves and lagoons found along the rocky coastline of the dramatic Tramuntana range with a catamaran cruise. The catamaran archors at the pier by the beach of Sant Elm from where it departs several times a day. Every Wednesday morning, the weekly market is held in the old town of Andratx. There are hundreds of stalls selling all kinds of local goods and delicacies and you get a chance to sample some typical Mallorcan produce and absorb this traditional part of the culture. This is also a great opportunity to discover the old town of Andratx and the many imposing estates.
The church of Carmen was built with donations and hands from the growing congregation of fishermen when Port d’Andratx started to to take form as a village. The church is a beautiful visit and, there are many processions starting here during the tradition celebrations in town.
The fortified estate of Son Mas is one of the most emblematic building of Andratx. The property was built by a nobleman and later, the walls were enhanced and the massive tower added. Today, Son Mas is home to the town hall of Andratx and a public exhibition space where you can always find contemporary artworks on display.
Just like many other churches in Mallorca, the Santa maria church in Andratx is a beautiful sight, with its massive dimensions and fortified exterior that witness of rough times in the coastal area.
Port d’Andratx is known as one of the most exclusive and lavish areas of Mallorca, a place that possess both natural beauty and some of the most expensive properties in Spain. Celebrities such as Brat Pitt, Claudia Schiffer and Kim Schumacher have all purchased property in Port d’Andratx along with many other prominent figures. Enjoy a nice lunch at one of the many bars and restaurants along the marina and roam the small shopping streets for designer clothes and jewelry. If you’re more into culture or walking, go see the church of Carmen or the medieval watchtower of Sant Carles.
The old watchtower of Sant Carles is overlooking the entire bay where Port d’Andratx is located in. It was built back in the 1500’s as a guard against pirates and other hostile intruders.

Festes de Sant Elm
During the first two weeks of August, the charming fishing village of Sant Elm celebrates its patron saint, Catalina Tomàs. You can look forward to a large number of fun and cultural events and activities held all over the village. One of the main events during this festival, is the reenactment of a battle between Moors and Christians held at the beach.
