Església de Nostra Senyora del Carmen

Thanks to an incredible dedication from the local congregation in Port d’Andratx, the construction of the church structure could begin in 1917.

Already on 25 December 1918, the new church in Port d’Andratx could be inaugurated and blessed. At this time, the church simply consisted of the main nave, choir and a side chapel on each side. The final completion of the church construction was in 1928.

Port d’Andratx has been an active fishing port for centuries, which is why it made good sense to dedicate the church to Carmen, patron of the people of the lake.

You will find the church in the pedestrian street, where the many delicious shops are also located, parallel just behind the marina and the waterfront.
