Peguera – or Paguera – is a coastal town located at the feet of Serra de Tramuntana, between Santa Ponca and Camp de Mar, in the southwestern part of Mallorca. Peguera has a particular alluring effect on active holidaymakers as the area offers access to both mountains and sea.

There is an old joke about Peguera; that it is the most beautiful part of Germany. And yes, Peguera does indeed have a lot of returning German tourists, but there is still an international vibe in the town.
When is the best time to visit Peguera?
Tourism peaks in the summer months, from May to September, namely because of the three wonderful beaches here. Peguera is open most year due to active tourism (biking, hiking) which is a big draw here.

Peguera offers 1400 meters of soft sandy white beaches, and if you include the one in Cala Fornells, you have 80 meters of beach line more to choose from. The biggest of the three beaches, is Platja de Palmira, from where there is also a pier for boats and catamarans. If you prefer a more secluded beach, go to the beach of Romano hidden between the rocky walls. You can do all sorts of typical beach activities at the beaches in Peguera, as well as you can rent sun loungers and parasols.

Peguera has a wide array of restaurants and bars that caters to most nationalities. You will find most cuisines here, from Indian to German, British and traditional Mediterranean. On the beachline there are plenty of chic beach bars, like Mar y Mar and Torá that serves refreshments and lunch plates.
Restaurante Los Poetas
In one of the smaller streets hidden behind the main boulevard of Peguera, you’ll find Los Poetas, a traditional Spanish restaurant that mainly serves meat, fish and seafood dishes.
La Hacienda
If you are a meat lover, and love a steak, then La Hacienda Steak House should be on your restaurant list. The restauirant is located on the outskirts of Peguera, but weell-worth the trip.
Restaurante La Gritta
Mediterranean meals prepared with local ingredients and served in stunning settings on the terrace overlooking the Palmira beach. The La Gritta restaurant is a great choice for a romantic dinner or lunch.
Shopping in Peguera
There are plenty of shops around the main street of Peguera, where you’ll find everything from high-end brands to local crafts.
Every Tuesday morning a market is held in Peguera, in the western part of town. Come and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of people bargaining, or do a good deal yourself on leather goods, clothing items or delicacies.

A taxi fare will cost you about 40 euros and take 25 minutes.
If you are in a rental car, take the autopisto MA-1 towards Andratx.

Getting here from Palma airport takes about 35 minutes by car. A taxi will be about 40 euro.
You can use the airport bus A11, which cost 5 euro.
Bus lines 102 and 122 connects Peguera to Palma city.
