Mondragó Park is a little piece of paradise found in the south-eastern corner of Mallorca.

The park was declared nature reserve back in 1992 by the Balearic government, because of the unique biodiversity found in the park.

The park covers an area of more than 785 hectares full Mediterranean vegetation and wildlife. Stony paths leads about in the park for you to easily get around to the most scenic places and reach the most beautiful viewpoints over the sea.

Mondragó is also home to a wide range of different species such as Crossbills, Firecrests, Nightingales, various shell animals and urchins. This is an amazing eco-system where everything is in perfect harmony.

Mondragó offers two amazing white sandy beaches; s’Amarador and Cala de n’Alis, the latter with cafeteria, showers and various facilities. These two, are the biggest beaches in the local area of Santanyí, Cala Llombards, Cala Santanyí, Cala Figuera, Portopetro and Cala d’Or. Note, that on Saturdays and Sundays it may be quite crowded here, as the locals too come here to relax during their weekends.

There is a big parking lot a the entrance about a kilometre from the park itself, which costs €5 for a day ticket. It is also possible to take public bus to the park.

Santanyí belongs to the Migjorn region, and is located in the south-eastern corner of Mallorca. Generally speaking, it belongs to the most dry areas of the island making it obvious for cultivation of figs, almonds etc. However, Santanyí is a coastal area and you will find a range of great beach destinations such as Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombards, s’Almonia, Portopetro and Cala d’Or which is the most touristic of the holiday destinations in southern Mallorca. Santanyí carries an eventful cultural heritage full of stories of pirate attacks, smuggling and big export adventures, which makes it an interesting place to visit and discover. The heart of Santanyí is the main square of the old town, an ambient place surrounded by bars and restaurants which gives life to the “yellow town”. Wednesday and Saturday are market days in Santanyí, where you can sample some of the local delicacies and products while bargaining good prices of various stuff.
