Torre des Moro is located on private land in Portals Vells, below Magaluf and Palmanova, at the tip of the cliff overlooking the idyllic bay, Cala Portals Vells from where you can of course see the tower.
Torre des Moro was constructed in 1584 but reconstructed in 1632, after violent attacks by pirates.
The tower is raised approx. 50 meters above sea level and had visual contact with Torre de Cala Figuera and Torre de sa Porrassa. The relatively lush rock formation out here made it easy to keep the tower supplemented with firewood for smoke signals.
Torre des Moro had only one guard with handguns and no cannon.
