La Reserva Park has an area of 2.5 million square metres and is situated at the foot of the “Puig de Galatzó”; one of the most emblematic mountains of Mallorca. During the route through the Park you will see a great variety of vegetation, which is due to the abrupt landscape, as there is a huge difference from the lowest point of 200m above sea level to the summit of the Puig de Galatzo at 1,026 metres. Apart from plants, La Reserva accommodates two brown bears, emus, donkeys, goats, peacocks, geese and a great variety of ducks in a landscape of caves and waterfalls.
The complete route is through old coal mine paths, and consists of 3.5 km passing through waterfalls of extraordinary beauty, and seeing multiple animals in a terrain of gentle slopes.
If you are looking for more adventures, don’t worry. There’s lots of ziplines and challenges to take on in Reserva Park making the visit fun for all ages and moods.
The park also arrange guided tours multiple times a day, a great way of learning about the unique flora and faune of the Tramuntana UNESCO site and the Balearic wildlife.
As of 2022, a new beekeeper adventure has been launched at Reserva Park: Put on the special suit and with the guidance of one of the experienced instructors, you will be the beekeeper of the parks many hives. This is an excellent activity, teaching about this ancient agricultural occupation and, at the same time about the importance of bees in our environment.
After a walk of approximately 45 minutes, you will find the restaurant and rest area, a bar service, where you can have refreshments or eat. The bar offers snacks such as hamburgers and hot dogs. You can also buy soft drinks.
In the hot summer months, when the heat is too much and you need to refresh, you can take a dip in the Mountain Pools, one of the natural pools, while you contemplate the beauty of the Serra de Tramuntana. Don’t forget your bathing suit. There are showers and changing rooms.
The park is open from 10:00-17:00 (last admission at 15:00).
How to get to La Reserva del Puig de Galatzo:
La Reserva is found in the southwest of the island near Puigpunyent. From Palma
follow directions to Puigpunyent (17 km from Palma), from where signs indicate La Reserva Park. There is a free car park.
