Capdepera, Canyamel, Son Servera and Pula golf, four 18-hole courses full of bunkers, ponds and trees awaits you to see if you can play to your handicap. Take a dive under the sea and discover a whole new world of beauty and life. Swim through mysterious caves, open valleys and colorful reefs, while taking pictures and meeting fascinating species.
Walk along gravel paths and unbeaten tracks to find the most breathtaking vantage point and unspoiled Balearic wildlife. The nearby Llevant mountain range offers a wealth of amazing nature to indulge in, many marked routes and a number of panoramic viewpoints. You can also enjoy walking in the area around Capdepera and Cala Ratjada, for example to the beautiful old lighthouse or the ruins of the old Son Jaumell watchtower.
One of the great tourist attractions close to Cala Bona, is the Cuevas de Ártà, or simply, the Caves of Ártà. Come discover the fascinating world of stalagmites and stalactites illuminated by colorful light creating a cabinet of mysterious silhouettes. This attraction is for both young and adults to enjoy, so don’t turn it down.
One of the most well-preserved and historical castles is situated just a short drive from Font de sa Cala, the impressive Capdepera castle. The fortress was erected in the early 14th century shortly after the Catalan conquest of the archipelago, to guard the coast and protect the new settlers of the island after centuries of Moorish domination. At the castle you can discover how life was hundreds of years ago, as well as enjoy the magical views of the coastline from the old watchtowers.
Torre de Canyamel is an old fortress dating from the late Middle Ages when the area was divided by private landowners. It was set up as a refuge for the population to seek to in times of crisis. Nowadays the fortress is an exhibition space with changing collections on display. Next to the tower is a great restaurant worth trying.
The Sant Salvador church is one of the most emblematic and iconic buildings in the northeastern part of Mallorca. It is situated at the summit of the holy hill of Artà, and you will need to climb a 180 step stairway to reach it. The church was originally built on the site of a Moorish mosque, but was destroyed in the 19th century after being used as a hospital for victims of a terrible plague. The church is surrounded by a fortified wall dating from the Middle Ages and used for protecting the population. From the church you can enjoy the most amazing views of the area and Artà town.
Climb the holy hill of Arta and visit the Sant Salvador church
Església Nova is a unique open-air church designed by famous Catalan architect Joan Rubio, whom was a partner of Antoni Gaudí. The church was never finished, nevertheless, still incredibly beautiful.
